I guess I wouldn't call this the best Spring we have ever had, but I have been able to take a few pretty pictures on the nice days we have had.
These are a few of the little trees we planted two years ago. The First is a Red Bud with the new hitching post (eventually the clematis we planted will cover most of the hitching post). It will be beautiful some day.
Here is a close up of the Red Bud. It is a pretty thing isn't it?
This picture is a young crabapple tree, and this year we planted a pear, peach and plum in the same area. All we have to do now is try to keep the deer away from them!!!!!!!!!!
You can just about see the fruit trees in the next picture but they really are there. LOL
They look kind of like sticks don't they?
Lyle and I have been quite busy outside a lot -we only have 16 logs left to cut from 5 cords of wood. Then the splitting and stacking will come next. We already have the wood shed three quarters full from wood we split last year.
Now as soon as the weather becomes a bit dryer we will start staining the house.
On those days like today when I kind of stuck inside I have been doing quite a bit of creative work.
I have Santas and Snowmen made for the holiday season and have created Witches, Jack-O Lantern men that can either hang on your doors or sit on a shelf. It has been fun making these and stuffing them the old time way with pieces of rags instead of polyfill. The rags give them such a sturdy look and feel. I even have them tagged as made by Cedar Home Collection since they can not be purchased anywhere else.
In the evenings while Lyle is watching (games) YUK! or sometimes a movie (smile) I have started to do embroidery work again. (Candle matts, Small picture samplers and word samplers, nothing big yet mostly just to fit into 5 x 7 frames. However the work keeps me from falling asleep in my rocker. LOL
As we get a little closer to our fall open house I will post some pictures of some of the things we have made. Until stay well and happy.
